Robert is the firstborn child of John McClelland and Catherine Labue McClelland. He was born on July
16, 1930, in Sharon, Pennsylvania. He graduated to heaven on May 13, 2021. He had one sister and
eight brothers.
On August 20, 1952, Robert was married to Joyce Lola Toland. They were married 68 years. Robert
“Bob” and Joyce have five children, Lee McClelland (wife Suzanne) of Dallas, Sandra McDaniel (husband
Lloyd) of Tampa, Roy McClelland (wife Donna) of Homosassa, Terry Rose (husband Mickie) of
Brooksville, and Richard McClelland (wife Claudia) of Atlanta. They have twelve grandchildren, and
eleven great-grandchildren. Bob is survived by four brothers: David McClelland (Albuquerque, NM), Donald McClelland (Spring Hill, FL), Edward McClelland (USA) and Jim McClelland (Conway, SC).
Bob had a servant’s heart. His faith and family were most important to him. He served the Lord Jesus,
through his church affiliations and many mission trips. The last 47 years he was a member at First
United Methodist Church, Brooksville, Florida.
He served his country for twenty-two years in the United States Air Force. He was a veteran of a foreign
war, serving in Vietnam. While serving his country he also served his fellow service men and women by
creating a “student aide” program, which enabled the young student Airmen to get guidance with their
goals and career paths. He retired with the rank of Chief Master Sargent.
He served the community of Brooksville and Hernando county with twenty years association in two high
schools, Hernando and Central. He was a teacher and an Education/guidance counselor. Many people
remember “Mr. Mac” from their high school days in Brooksville.
The family would like to express their immense gratitude to medical caregivers: Donna McClelland, Anne
Bartlett, Janice Raemer and Senior Helpers of Brooksville, along with many others.
