He was born January 1, 1929 in Brooksville, Florida and had been a lifelong resident. He served his country in the United States Air Force, earned a Master's Degree, and continued to make Hernando County proud by becoming a teacher for Hernando County Schools.
He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Rick & Paula L. McCleery of Weeki Wachee, Florida; his daughters, Dara McCleery of Brooksville, Florida and Susan Peterson of Zephyrhills, Florida; seven grandchildren, Lindsey, Ashleigh, Randelle, Cole, Cloie, Rick, and Matthew; and nine great-grandchildren, Lucas, Grace, Leighann, Trae, Jace, Jaden, Madison, Isaiah, and Torriana.
A Gathering for family and friends will take place from 2:00-4:00pm, Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel.
