HOPKINS, Priscilla, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on June 17, 2022 at the age of 79 in her apartment in Orlando, FL.
Priscilla is survived by her sons, Sean Hopkins and Bryce Hopkins; her daughters-in-law, Jennifer (née Clark) and Stephanie (née Wallace); her granddaughter, Justine; and her grandsons, Sullivan and Oliver. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerard and Emma Pressé (née Gabbani); her brother, Michael Pressé; and her husband of 53 years, John.
Priscilla was born in Timmins, Ontario on January 6, 1943 to Gerard and Emma Pressé. She graduated from the University of Toronto Nursing School and moved to Los Angeles, CA the same year. She met her future husband in California and on July 20, 1968, she married John Hopkins in Haileybury, Ontario. In 1972 and 1974 respectively, Priscilla and John welcomed their two adorable sons who were such an important part of her life.
Priscilla went back to school in the 1980s to get her master’s degree in Psychology from Drake University. She counseled in many areas including grief counselling, substance abuse counselling and eventually volunteered at Hospice. She was woman of faith and was involved in several church activities. Priscilla was a devoted mother and loved laughing. She was rarely seen not smiling and her laughter was infectious. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00-11:00am on Wednesday June 29, 2022 at the Merritt Funeral Home Spring Hill chapel. A chapel service will be conducted at 11:00am with Father Mikhail Kouts and Pastor Daniel Green officiating. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
