Williams, Ora Claire, (nee Gillette), 85, of Brooksville passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at her home with family by her side.
Ora Claire Williams was born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 3, 1931. She resided in Northeast Ohio before moving to Florida in 1980. She was employed as a bookkeeper with Kucera International in Willoughby, Ohio for over 30 years and after relocating to Florida worked for Condenser Products and later Charlie’s Plumbing, as well as donating much volunteer time to church and charitable organizations. She was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church, was an active member for 60 plus years at Amaranth Strauss-Memorial Court in Willoughby, Ohio; Ohio State Police Auxiliary serving as Secretary and two terms Vice President, a member of Euclid Ohio Police Auxiliary member for 31 years, and Coordinator for the Euclid, Ohio March of Dimes. She was a member of the Brooksville Women’s Club for 30 years holding multiple offices including Treasurer and President for two terms. Mrs. Williams was a volunteer money counters for 30 years at First United Methodist Church; as well as HPH Hospice caregiver and trainer for new volunteers for the past 11 years.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Robert V. Williams; parents, Clarence and Loretta Gillette; sister, Rebecca; daughter-in-law, Debbie. Survivors include her son, Dean Williams of Perry, Ohio; daughter, Cynthia Williams of Brooksville, Florida; grandchildren, Stacy (Dave), Lauren, Kelly, Zachary (Vanessa), Kathryn (Tom), Victoria, Stephen, Samantha; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 11:00am at First United Methodist, Brooksville. Inurnment will be at a later date at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to HPH Hospice.
