Maria L. Ortiz

She was born April 1, 1924 in Coamo, Puerto Rico and came to the area 10 years ago from Manhattan, New York. She was a seamstress in the clothing industry.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fernando Cancetty.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Fernando & Marcia Cancetty; daughter: Alba Cancetty; son: Louis Cancetty; all of Spring Hill, Florida; three sisters: Zenida Ortiz of the Bronx, New York, and Carmen Ortiz and Aida Luz Ortiz, both of Coamo, Puerto Rico; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Andrea and Damien. 

Visitation will be from 10:00am until 1:00pm, Friday, August 21, 2020 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00pm at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens with Deacon Gregorio Lugo officiating.
