November 27, 2004-December 24, 2020
On November 27,2004 God blessed us with one of our greatest gifts , Logan. He came into the world way too early and was a teeny, tiny baby boy. But , all through life he never let size hold him back from anything! He believed and he lived the motto, " It`s not the size of the man that counts ,but rather the size of the heart that really matters."
Logan was a gold medal gymnast , and although he was always the smallest , he was also the strongest , even acheiving the strong man award as a little boy! Later he found a new love, football . Again he was the smallest , but he never let that hold him back . He`d call out the biggest and strongest boy and take him down without fear . Upon getting up he would have the biggest grin on his face ! I have never seen a little boy ,or later a young man, love football as much as our Logan did. He played with more heart than anyone I have ever seen , and loved his coaches, team mates and the game with passion and drive !
Logan had a heart of gold , and a beautiful sense of compassion. He was the type of person who never knew a stranger , for Logan he called them all friend. Everywhere he went people knew him and would stop and talk to him and give him a hug , and he loved it so much. Although most people his age wouldn`t understand the importance of a veteran, Logan did. He always stopped to thank them for serving our country , and he did it with pride and not out of obligation. When Logan was a little boy we would ask him what he wanted to be when he grew up , and he always gave the same answer, "Just like my big brother Dillan!", who he looked up to so much. Dillan said, " Logan may have looked up to me , but it really was me who looked up to him." He was my best friend."
Logan was a bit of a prankster and he was good at it. His brother, sister , Mom, Dad and friends could always count on him to put a smile on their faces every day . He was the kind of kid who LOVED life and lived it fully ! What a gift he was to this world!
For Sylvia , her and Logan were two peas in a pod. If you saw one , the other one was not far behind , and if one got in trouble , you could be sure that the other one was part of it too! People called them twins .She was his best friend and he was hers.
Though Logan was an amazing , compassionate and gifted young man in so many ways, something was missing in his life . In the summer of 2019 he attended a youth camp ,in Tennessee ,with his church. While worshipping at a church service he felt a strong calling to be the first one to come forward and give his life to the Lord , laying down the desires of this world and walking forward with Christ in his life. When he came home he was ready to be baptized , and shortly after ,did so at his home church CCW. Out of all his accomplishments this was by far his greatest one! Knowing he is safe now in the arms of Jesus is a comfort to all that loved him.
The tremendous love that Dillan , Logan and Sylvia`s parents have for them goes beyond words, and as children in a family do, each one of them fits into the many pieces that make up their precious family. For Logan , he was the middle child , he had a loving heart and was best friend to Mommy, Daddy brother and sister. He had a rare condition of the heart, it was a heart filled with hope, compassion and love , one that knew no judgement or condemnation, and that my friends, is a rare find.
He was the glue to their family , a bright light to everyone who met him, and a light that will never be extinguished. Not with time, nor death ,nor distance, for when someone shines a light this bright , its glow , its embers can never be extinguished . Logan`s light ,and all he was ,will shine for all eternity .
We were blessed with the gift of Logan , a gift that we will treasure forever. He was one of the good ones, one of the best . Till we see you on the other side sweet Boo
