Our beloved Linda went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 6, 2024 in Brooksville, Florida.
Linda was born in Paoli, Indiana on April 15, 1949 to Glen & Rhoda Moneyhan. At four years old, the family moved to her mother’s hometown of Brooksville. She grew up here, attended Brooksville Methodist Church, and was a lifelong Methodist for over 65 years. She graduated from her mother’s alma mater here at Hernando High School in 1969, as did her daughter.
After starting a family, she went to work for Olan Mills Portrait Studio in sales and management and worked there for almost four decades. She received many awards and was recognized for her years of dedication. She loved her family more than anything and being raised here in Brooksville, she had many lifelong friends. She also loved the beach, antiques, travel, birds and nature, and her pets.
Linda never met a stranger she didn’t befriend. She loved everyone, and would give the shirt off her back. She had the biggest heart for people and was always thinking about how she could help them and pray for their lives. And even though she was the sweetest kindest soul, she could hold her own, she was a tough cookie, stubborn, and hard working. She had quite a medical journey for the last 15 years, and she fought hard. She was a cancer survivor, and what a testimony to Gods faith, she kept fighting until God called her home.
Although Linda is gone, she will forever live in our hearts. She is survived by her husband, Steve; her daughter, Angie Kirby (Tom); her sister, Glenda (T.T.) Whitman (Larry Sr.); her brother, Michael Moneyhan (Pat); she also has many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents; two of her sisters, Mary Elizabeth and Michelle; and her brother, Glen Jr.
She will rest at the Brooksville Cemetery. A service of celebration will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Brooksville Methodist Church in downtown Brooksville, 109 South Broad Street. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 1:00-2:00pm with the Memorial Service beginning at 2:00pm. Pastor McClain will officiate. A Reception will follow in the Susanna Wesley Room at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Brooksville Methodist Church will be greatly appreciated.
