LEFAVE, Joseph Stephen, age 66, born in Everett, MA went home to live with the Lord on January 6, 2016 following a long illness. Steve was born on February 17, 1949. He was a graduate of Peabody High School and worked as a heat treater for General Electric for 35 years in Everett and Lynn, Massachusetts. Upon retirement, Steve moved to North Carolina with his wife, Ruth LeFave. The couple later moved to Florida after spending 8 years in North Carolina.
While in North Carolina, Steve attended Crossroads Church. He regularly attended Life and Men’s Groups. Steve was a devote Christian and worked cleaning the church for 4 years, in addition to being a frequent volunteer within the church community, helping to put meals together. He was also an active member of Teen Challenge and Habitat for Humanity.
Steve is the son of Gloria (Murry) LeFave and Paul H. LeFave and brother to late sister Paula LeFave. He is survived by his wife Ruth (Towne) LeFave, daughter Lori LeFave, son Michael LeFave, stepdaughters Lisa Yasi and her husband Daniel, Tammy Wong, stepson Ryan Cripps and his financee Merrie Brott whom lovingly cared for Steve during his last days, and sister Kathleen Vinagro and her husband Vinny. Steve is also survived by his thirteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, and his beloved dog, Sonya.
