He was born March 6, 1946 in Tullahoma, Tennessee and came to this area 50 years ago. He served 8 years on the Brooksville City Council, was the Mayor of Brooksville for 2 terms and was an active member and former president of the Jaycees. He taught for Hernando High School and Parrott Jr. High for 13 years and became the Purchasing Director for Hernando County School Board until retiring in 2002.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Virgie Tucker and sister, Helen. He is survived by his wife of 42 years: Carol; brother: Glenn Tucker; 5 nieces and 1 nephew.
A Visitation will be held at 2:00pm-3:00pm, Friday, February 16, 2018 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, where Funeral Services will begin at 3:00pm, with Father Lance Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Brooksville Cemetery.
