Joe Baker

He was born July 10, 1936 in Athens, Tennessee and came to Brooksville 68 years ago.  He was an over-the-road truck driver for Florida Rock Corp for 35 years.  He liked tinkering around the garage, traveling to Colorado where he liked the snow but hated the cold.  Most of all he loved his family and had a very special place in his heart for his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris (Hammock) Baker; daughter, Lydia Cole; parents, Taylor & Mandy (Kirksey) Baker; and one brother and four sisters.  He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Karen & Jim Audett of Westminster, Colorado, Ivonda Jennings of Floral City, Florida, and son-in-law, Michael Cole of Texas; 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Lake Lindsey Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Vitas Hospice Citrus County.
