He was born August 10, 1944 in Jellico, Kentucky. He came to this area 70 years ago and was formerly of Brooksville, Florida prior to settling in Homosassa. He served in the United States Navy for 26 years and retired as Chief Petty Officer. He worked as a well driller for Swift Mud and was a member of Stable Faith Cowboy Church and the Brooksville Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed boating, fishing, RVing, traveling and was a great story teller, but most of all, he loved his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Vernon, Bill and Joseph. He his survived by his wife of 32 years, Janet "Jan" Meadors; son, Richard Meadors of Brooksville, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Kandi & Bobby Wood of Homosassa, Florida; stepson and daughter-in-law, Bryan & Kristy Faulkingham; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Jennifer & Mike Allen; grandchildren, Zayne Vasquez, John Allen, Tiffany Klenovich and Jacob Faulkingham; great-grandchildren, Ansley, Anniston and Andrew Klenovich; many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life is planned for 3pm, Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 16068 Forzando Ave., Brooksville, FL.
