Jesse Tillman Young

Jesse Tillman Young, 79, a lifetime resident of Brooksville, Florida passed away on March 9, 2023. He was born in Brooksville, Florida on March 21, 1943. Jesse was a Seabee in the U. S. Navy serving in Viet Nam. He worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator. Jesse was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed walking in the woods and also enjoyed vacations with his family. Jesse was a member of VFW Post 7122 in Floral City, Florida.

Jesse is predeceased by his wife, Linda M. Young. parents, Ora D. and Anna Belle Young, sister, Patricia Lopez and brother, Harvey Eugene Young.

He is survived by his children, Todd (Terri) Young of Brooksville, Florida, daughter Lorri (Steve) Sifford of Salisbury, North Carolina, and grandson, Justin Young, granddaughters, Celia and Camrie Sifford and many nieces and nephews along with his first wife, Darlene Furrow.

The family of Jesse would like to say a special "Thank You" to the staff at HPH Hospice and his special caregiver Darlene.

A visitation will be on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 10:30am – 11:30am with a service to follow at 11:30am at Merritt Funeral Home, 2 South Lemon Ave., Brooksville, FL. Interment to immediately follow service at Lake Lindsey Cemetery, Brooksville, FL.
