James "Jim" B. Marise Sr.

Jim was born on February 25, 1931 in Camden, Tennessee to Thomas & Ethel Marise. On November 19, 1988, Jim married Irene Johnston in Brooksville, Florida.

Jim proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, from which he later retired. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. Jim was also a minister for multiple local nursing homes.

He is preceded in death by two of his children, Peggy Head and Darlene Bennett. Jim is survived by his wife, Irene Marise; his children, James Marise Jr., Randy Marise, and Rhonda Marise, as well as his stepchildren, Beth Childs (Jay), Jeffrey Otis (Debra), Kathy Young (Paul), Lolly Otis, and Peter Otis (Tanya); and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30-11:30am on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Merritt Funeral Home Brooksville (2 South Lemon Avenue, Brooksville, FL 34601), where Funeral Services begin at 11:30am. A Committal Service with military honors will follow at 1:00pm at Florida National Cemetery (6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513).
