GANT, Jack Clayton, age 82, of Spring Hill, Florida died Monday, October 24, 2022 at HPH Hospice Care Center. He was a lifelong native of Brooksville and graduated from Hernando High School and the University of Florida of which he was a lifetime alumni and a Gator fan. Jack was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany for three years. Jack taught Agricultural Mechanics and after retiring from teaching returned to Brooksville and then worked for Hernando County Utilities as a permit and development renewal coordinator. He was a lifetime Mason, a member of the Largo Star Lodge and the Egypt Temple Shriners and 32nd Degree Scottish Rite.
Preceded in death by brother: Tom Gant, he is survived by wife: Carol Ann Gant; daughter: Cheryl Gant, both of Spring Hill, Florida; sons and daughter-in-law: Karl Royce and Erin Gant of Tempe, Arizona; Greg Gant of Perry, Florida; Stephen and Donna Godard of Hartsville, South Carolina; sister: Evelyn Chesney of Miami, Florida; six grandchildren: William (Tanya) Wilson, Daniel (Michelle) Wilson, Katelyn Gant, Clayton Gant, Jackson Gant and Margaret Gant; four great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:00am, Thursday, November 10, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Masaryktown, Florida. A celebration of life will be at a later date and times to be determined.
