Geraldine "Miss Judy" M. Ward

WARD, Geraldine Marie “Miss Judy” age 84, lifelong resident of and business owner in the Brooksville area, died Friday, August 12, 2016 at Brooksville Health Care Center.  Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie Ward and sons, Robert W. Ward and Johnie J. Ward.  She is survived by sons & daughters-in-law:  Jerry & Valdora Ward of Brooksville and Tommy & Denise Ward of Graceville, FL; daughters:  Anna Ward of Spring Hill and Judy Ward of Brooksville; brother & sister-in-law:  Carl & Pat Mahon of Weeki Wachee; sister:  Martha Henderson of Spring Hill; 6 grandchildren:  Jonathon Ward, Tabatha Rodier, Keith Ward, Amber White, Robert Ward and Krystal Dady and 5 great grandchildren.  Judy was born November 10, 1931 in Pasco County to Carl & Elvia Mahon.  Judy and Johnie made their lives in Brooksville and were owners of as many as 5 businesses during most of the 1970’s.  After Johnie’s passing in October 1978, Judy became sole owner and manager of three of those businesses, Johnie’s Bar, Crossroads Bar & Grill and the Sail Inn.  She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, beloved sister to her siblings and fondly thought of by the many people whom her life touched in our community.  Mom, you will be missed and we hope to honor your legacy in all that we do.  Visitation for friends will be 2 – 4 & 6 – 8pm, Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel where funeral services will be 11:00am, Thursday, August 18, 2016.  Burial will follow at Brooksville Cemetery.
