STOUT, Edwin Ronald, age 62 of Brooksville, Florida, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Edwin was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida where he grew up fishing out of Pass-a-Grille and developing a love for cars. His family relocated to Brooksville in 1975 where he joined the marching band at Hernando High School, and, as a senior in 1977, he performed in Washington, DC at Jimmy Carter’s inauguration ceremony. After high school, Eddie moved to Nashville, Tennessee for his certification in diesel engine mechanics.
In 1981 he told his mother he had met the “love of his life”, Joanne Durdovic Stout. The married 3 months later and have been constant companions for forty amazing years. He spent his free time on thrilling adventures along the coast of Florida, fishing for grouper, shrimping, casting nets and even tried hookah diving for sponges! Eddie enjoyed spending his weekends with his wife and kids making memories on the water with halfway sinking ships or waiting our rainstorms because the fish were biting. He continued fishing long after his boating days stopped. You could find him with Joanne at any fishing pier from Brooksville to St. Petersburg, just casting lines and sending his kids picture messages of them together.
CB handle, “Big Ed” had a beautiful generous heart and a wide-open door. He would drop everything for his family and friends. He would offer anything he could to help someone in need. Need help moving out of state? Need help working on a car? Need help with kid pick up or drop off? Need help fixing an appliance? Need someone to just talk? You could count on Eddie!
Edwin is survived by his wife of 40 years: Joanne Durdovic Stout; mother: Alice Carolyn Todd; children & their spouses: Carolyn Stout, Christina Stout & Daniel Dancsak, Michael & Jayda Stout and Heather Stout; his adopted children: John Stout, Mathew Stout and Robert Stout; sisters & brother-in-law: Luanne Stout, Sharon Stout and Sandra & Ken Groves.
