PHILLIPS, Doris Romine, 92, of Brooksville, FL passed into glory on Oct. 20, 2016 at the home of her loving and faithful caregiver Rebecca Pope of Brooksville. Mrs. Phillips was born Dec. 1, 1923 in Rogersville, AL to parents Bennett & Nora Romine. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles “Charlie” Eugene Phillips of 35 years and then by husband Kenneth Morris Phillips of 12 years, her 7 brothers and 1 sister, and also by her son-in-law Don Vaughan. She was a member of the Brooksville Church of Christ since 1960, was a homemaker for most of her adult life, but did work at the Hernando County School Board, later at SunTrust Bank and for a time was a volunteer at Brooksville Regional Hospital. She is survived by her three daughters, Linda Phillips Vaughan of Brooksville, Jeannie Phillips DuBose, husband Dan of Brooksville and Holly Phillips Shamblin, husband Dave of Brooksville, 10 Grandchildren, Shane (Gwen) Vaughan, Sunni (Mark) Hockensmith, Lane (David) DeGeyter, Toby (Tonya) Vaughan, Wes (Jamie) Shamblin, Ben (Andrea) Shamblin, Bree (Garrett) Tormey, Stacey (Daryl) Cole, Adam (Monica) Shamblin and Niki Shamblin, 17 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great-grandchild. A visitation and viewing will be held Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Merritt Funeral Home in Brooksville, FL and a memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Brooksville Church of Christ, 604 W. Fort Dade Ave., Brooksville, FL with interment to follow at Brooksville Cemetery.
