Charles J. Flynn

FLYNN, Charles J., age 77 died after a long battle with cancer with his loving family by his side on Saturday, December 13, 2014. Charles is survived by his wife, the love of his life for over 54 years: June M. (Gorneau) Flynn of West Gardiner, ME and Brooksville, FL; six children: Kathy and her husband Russell Vannah of Litchfield, ME, Karen Flynn and her partner Barry Kott of Oakland, ME, Mary and her husband Mike Pare of West Gardiner, ME, Charles  Flynn and his wife Karen of Holiday, FL, Michael Flynn and his wife Kim of West Gardiner, ME, Jean and her husband Chris Carson of Sidney, ME; his sister: Mary Ellen Brigham of Auburn, MA; brother: Jack (Spanky) Flynn of Canyon, TX; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents: Mary Agnes and Thomas N. Flynn of Worcester, MA and brother Thomas Flynn of Pembroke Pines, FL. Charles was born on May 27, 1937 in Worcester, MA to parents Mary Agnes & Thomas N. Flynn of Worcester, MA. He graduated in 1955 from St. Peters High and joined the Marines in 1956 and became a master electrician. Charles was a wonderful family man, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was active in his community and served as a selectman for the Town of West Gardiner. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus & West Gardiner Rod & Gun Club along with being active in Gardiner Little League, Babe Ruth and junior football. His family and friends will always remember him as a man of deep faith in God and his religion. He was a lover of golfing, fishing and spending time at his summer home on the lake in West Gardiner, ME. Services and interment will be in Maine at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to HPH Hospice.
