

COMPTON, Charles Arnold, age 90 of Brooksville, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at HPH Hospice Care Center. Born in Shelbyville, Illinois, he came here 42 years ago from Oreana, Illinois. He was a building contractor, building numerous commercial and residential buildings and he enjoyed working with wood. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and was a member of the V.F.W. of Brooksville. Survivors include his wife: Clara “Eunice”; son & daughter-in-law: Stephen & Christy Compton of Brooksville; daughters: Carol Compton & Cheryl McCoy both of Spring Hill; brothers: Royce & Paul Compton both of Shelbyville, Illinois; sister: Eula Shattuck of Cedar Springs, Michigan; grandchildren: Lauren Compton, Joshua Compton and Maria Eusebio and her husband Emilio; great granddaughter: Kelsey Branon. The family will receive friends 5:00 – 6:30pm, Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville, where memorial services will begin at 6:30pm with Dr. Greg Champagne of New Journey Church officiating. Military honors will be conducted at 10:30am, Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Journey Church, P.O.
