Carlos Ruiz

Carlos was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, as well as a father figure to many. He was born in Vieques, Puerto Rico and moved to Philadelphia, PA where he opened and operated, Vieques Bar, for 35 years. The bar became a place of gathering and unity in the neighborhood. He spent his retirement years in Deltona, Florida. On September 9, 2022 at 7:30am, he passed quietly at the Sturgill Hospice House. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Carmen Ruiz, his only daughter and her husband, Judith & Otis Adams, his only granddaughter and her husband Jessica & Christian Best and his great grandchildren Piers (20) & Ella (17) Best. There will be a mass in his honor on November 8th at 11:00am at the Parroquia Apostól de la De la Immaculada Concepción, followed by the interment at the Municipal cemetery in Isabel Segunda, Vieques, Puerto Rico.
