FRANKLIN, Major Arnold C. Jr. (Ret.), age 88, of Brooksville, FL beloved husband, father, friend, left his earthly life on October 18, 2014 to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born in Bryant, AR and came to the area 28 years ago from Alexandria, VA. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of WWII receiving the Purple Heart for wounds suffered during the Battle of Okinawa and was awarded the Oak Leaf Cluster to the Purple Heart for wounds received in Korea and the Air Medal for approximately 52 flights with the U.S. Air Force doing reconnaissance work during the Korean War. He was active in the National Guard and Army Reserves until his retirement as Major in 1976. He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Nell S. Franklin: son: Arnold C. (Vanessa) Franklin, III; daughters: Pamela Franklin; Elizabeth (Clay) Erhart; brother: Ralph (Doris) Franklin; sisters-in-law: Pat and Doris Garner; 4 granddaughters: Tiffany, Rachel, Amber and Ashley; 1 grandson: Austin; 6 great-grandchildren and numerous family members and friends. He will be dearly missed by all. Interment at family cemetery in Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HPH Hospice.
