Susan Elizabeth Ansbro Mazza, 63, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Palm Beach County, Boynton Beach, FL on Sunday, December 31, 2023. Born and raised in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn, Susan attended Holy Name of Jesus School and St. Saviour High School in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
Susan held various administrative positions at Chase Manhattan Bank for 10+ years where she made some lifelong friends. She left Chase to become a stay-at-home mother to her son, Joseph, for the next five years. She returned to the workforce in 1995 at American Stock Transfer & Trust Company where she had an impressive career in the shareholder services industry as a hardworking and dedicated employee for 24 years before retiring in 2019.
Susan was very family-oriented and loved her friends with her whole heart and always had a smile to share with everyone. She was very artistic and crocheted many beautiful blankets for her family and friends for all special occasions. She loved to garden, travel and shop and was an avid and loyal fan to her New York Mets. Susan loved to be surrounded by her family and friends and hosted many enjoyable holiday and birthday celebrations. Her annual Super Bowl parties throughout the years were much anticipated and thoroughly enjoyed by all!
In late 2022, Susan made the decision to leave Brooklyn and head south to live in sunny Florida near her three sisters. She bought a condo in Delray Beach and had so much fun decorating and settling into the Florida lifestyle. She enjoyed socializing at the pool and attending various social events with her new neighbors.
Susan is survived by her beloved son Joseph, her three sisters, Lisa Fisher (Ron), Jeanne Gulbransen (Craig) and Elizabeth Ansbro (Thomas); her two brothers Thomas (Donna) and Edmund. She is also survived by her loving nephews and nieces, Matthew (Theresa), Thomas (Michelle), Brenden and Meghan; Andrew, Michele,and Michael Mazza, and her many cousins, friends and friends who she considered family.
Visitation at Joseph G. Duffy/MJ Smith Sons Funeral Home, 255 Ninth Street, Brooklyn, NY on Thursday, 1/4/24 from 3-8pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, 1/5/24 at 10am at Holy Name of Jesus Church at 245 Prospect Park West, Brooklyn, NY followed by interment at The Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY.
