Salvatore E Mauro

Our precious angel, Salvatore ‘Sal’ Eric Mauro, beloved- Italian son of Erasmo ‘Eric’ and Dana Mauro, born on September 27, 1995, went to be with God on Monday, August 2, 2021. Sal was an incredible person who laughed and smiled throughout his 25 years; bringing joy and happiness to everyone he touched.

Born in Brooklyn, and raised between Brooklyn and Staten Island, Sal was a loving son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was loved by all who knew him, and had a heart of gold, contagious laugh, uncompromising integrity, boundless courage, and loyalty and loving dedication to his family.

Sal was predeceased by his grandparents, Martin and Diane Aversano (maternal), grandfather, Salvatore Mauro (paternal), and his uncle, Benedetto Mauro (paternal). In addition to his parents, he is survived by numerous family: grandmother, Provvidenza Mauro (paternal), aunts, uncles, and cousins; and friends who loved Sal very much.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York for their incredible care provided to Sal and the entire family; and a very special thanks to all the donations given at this difficult time. The family appreciates all of the prayers and concerns extended to us during this time.

A visitation for Salvatore will be held Thursday & Friday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM & 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Cusimano & Russo Funeral Home, 2005 West 6th St, Brooklyn, NY 11223. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Mary Mother of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 2326 84 Street, Brooklyn, NY 11214. Interment to follow on Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Ocean View Cemetery, 3315 Amboy Road, Staten Island, NY 10306.
