When I was a student at Brooklyn College in the late 1960s, I took Martin Schreibman's graduate level Endocrinology course. It was a great course and Martin was a fantastic mentor. Although we did not interact much after that course, I have retained the memory of him and his excellence throughout all these years. The knowledge I gained from him contributed importantly to the development of my own successful academic career at Boston College and the University of New Mexico.

Martin was a fixture at Brooklyn College, an undeniable character who taught thousands of BC undergraduates about the beauty of the underwater world.  While he was a distinguished academic, Martin was a genuine mensch who was a friend to everyone and a mentor to many of us who were fortunate to call him a friend.  Martin, you will be missed.
