She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She attended the High School of Art and Design and continued her studies in the arts at Kingsborough Community College where she received her associates in arts degree.
Lucille was an accomplished musician, singer and songwriter. She sang in venues around Brooklyn and Manhattan bringing joy to audiences of all ages. She taught herself to play keyboard, trumpet, saxophone, guitar and the flute. Her creative expression was not limited to music, Lucille was also an artist, a painter and sculptor.
Lucille was a bird lover and over the years she provided meticulous care for them and they gave her much joy in return.
She is survived by her siblings, Jacqueline and Salvatore Cataldo, nephew and niece Michael and Michele Amoroso, great nieces Julia and Leila Amoroso, Dr. Ernest Lofton, whom she considered “a brother”, dear cousins Betty and Ronnie Wiggberg and Jackie and Tommy Sperlazzo along with many other family, friends and colleagues.
Lucille will be greatly missed by many.
A visitation for Lucille will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cusimano & Russo Funeral Home, 2005 West 6th St, Brooklyn, NY 11223. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 430 Avenue W, Brooklyn, NY 11223. Interment to follow in St. John Cemetery, 80-01 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village, NY 11379.
