George J. Gonsalves was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1937 to Mary and Louis. He was the youngest of 10. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, his children, Karina and Adam, and grandchild, Livia, and his nieces and nephews. He surpassed our beloved family pet, Maya. He was a great man with many talents. He was an electrician for the MTA for 39 years. His hobbies included, but were not limited to fishing, carving, setting up HO trains, putting models together, drawing, painting, 3-D art, gardening, cooking, upholstery, being the handyman around the house, making decorations for the holidays, and much more. As a devoted Catholic he crafted crucifixes for the family and restored religious statues of saints for the church. He is known for his famous Georgie tomato sauce, his carving creations such as wooden ships, roses, animals, and his latest unfinished projects, a WWI biplane, painting of Maya, and wooden carving of Maya. Other things he enjoyed in his free time, was watching western shows, cooking shows, and travel shows. He was a child at heart, he loved watching Tom and Jerry, Scooby Doo, Peanuts, and other classic cartoons. He loved to share his stories and to tease us. He enjoyed playing dominoes and checkers with Livia. He taught us many craft skills throughout the years we have known him. He is dearly missed by his family. He has touched our hearts in many ways.
