Francesco Buscini, born 8/21/1942 in Pozzallo Sicily, son of John Buscini and Antonina Giunta died on February 26, 2018 in his home in Scotch Plains, NJ. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of what would be 50 years, Rita, their son John and his wife Kim, their daughter Ninamarie and her husband Richard, their daughter Stephanie and her husband Bob and their six wonderful grandchildren: John Anthony, Alex, Sofia, Matthew, Adam and Emma. He also leaves behind his brother Carmelo and dozens of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Francesco came to America in the summer of 1966 and resided in upstate NY with his Uncle Sal Buscini and Aunt Frances, but also would spend time with his other Giunta aunts and uncles and cousins in Brooklyn, NY. In the area now known as Carol Gardens, he was reacquainted with a good childhood friend’s younger sister. They ended up getting married on September 7, 1968.
Francesco was a very hard worker. He took the typical immigrant jobs at the time in the 60s-a hospital orderly and part-time cab driver. He later became an inventory warehouse worker and eventually a machine operator as a long shore man for what would become American Stevedores. In addition to his union job, "Frank the Painter" also worked part time painting and doing some small construction jobs. All to provide his wife and children a better life. Rita and Francesco truly lived the American Dream, as they put their 3 kids through college and made wonderful friends and memories in their home in Brooklyn.
He enjoyed clamming in the Great South Bay of long island, bowling and gardening. The amount of vegetation he could yield from a six foot by six foot concrete back yard garden was simply incredible. But most of all, he enjoyed being a Nonno. He loved his family more than life. He was proud of his children and grandchildren.
