She leaves behind her three children, John (Carmel), Patricia, and Gerard and her four beloved grandchildren, Kimberly, Jack, Noelle, and Kate. Lillian was predeceased by her devoted husband of 54 years, John C. Burns.
She was an active member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary parish and a lifelong member of the Catholic War Veterans Association (CWV). Lillian was an avid bowler in numerous ladies’ leagues around Brooklyn until she was 83. She was a die-hard Mets fan and lover of horse racing. A true Brooklyn girl, she never had a driver’s license.
Over the last decade Lillian was especially grateful to have been cared for by Dawn, Nicole, Georgina, and her hairdresser of over forty years, Joe. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation.
