I was late to find out about the passing of my dear friend Hank.
I go back to the 70's when Hank helped me with job placements in Architecture positions with drafting projects.
I will miss Hank forever.
May you rest in peace my dear friend.

The desire to be heard by sharing jokes, stories, advice, songs and love of life  left an eternal imprint,  we still hear you Hankele.   We're taking care of Julie for you, though she manages quite well herself.  Rest in peace, my friend.  

On father Day I decided to find the whereabouts of Mr Hank DeVito, I find it seven months after passing.
I met Hank in the early seventy. He landed my second job in my young 
career as a Draftsman.
Hank was a gentleman who gave you confidence and direction and taught you even how to answer the incoming questions on an interview.
As I recall he was always smiling, sure of himself .
Through his employment agency I got16 years of employment with Hayden/Wegman Consulting Engineers.
Iam greatful to have met Mr. H. DeVito in my life.

I just recently came across this notice of Hank Devito's passing:    I had the pleasure of knowing Hank professionally as he helped me find several engineering jobs over my 40 year career as an electrical engineer. My present position came about when Hank advised me to "think outside the box" and to take the 3-6 month "temporary" opportunity as a foot in the door with a major engineering company. I've been here for 10-1/2 years now! Hank always provided encouragement along with his professional advice. Somewhere over the years I found out that one of his daughters, Doreen, was a classmate of mine at Hauppauge High School (Class of 1975). My condolences to the Devito Family.

 I've know Hank basically my whole life.  As soon as I was old enough to work, the first thing he'd say to me every time I spoke to him was "Chris.  You need a job?  Let me help you find a job".  Nevermind that I wasn't an engineer, didn't matter.

All my love to everyone who loved him and all who were loved by him.

We where neighbors for 35 years.  Hank loved to talk about
Yankees and especially about Italian food. We will miss his
sense of humor.  Great guy.

My deepest condolences go to the DeVito Family.  I have known Hank since I was 15 years old.  He gave me my first job and every job since then.  I will never get tired of hearing him call me "Anna Banana".  I will always remember our laughs and our stories.  He was a man of honor and integrity.  He was never in a bad mood.  I will always remember him as a good friend, a confidant and just an amazing person.   He will be missed so much.  

My sincere condolences to the DeVito family.  i am so happy he was able to meet his great grandson, Anthony.  His memory will live on in him.
It's very hard to loose a parent no matter  how old they are.  He will always be your Dad and missing him is the hardest.
I will pray for all of you during this very sad time.

Often when I would call my husband, Barry @ work, Hank would answer the phone (where they sounded Soo much alike) and we would talk for a minute sometimes about “quantum physics” (as if that conversation could ever be a minute). He asked if I believed we were living past, present & future lives all at the same time. I said it was difficult to wrap my head around the concept but I had certainly heard of  living in a “parallel universe “. The day after Hank passed over, I found myself reading a book where Dr Joe Dispenza  was describing it in terms I actually could understand and I thought, ahhh this is what Hank really meant...! I would have LOVED to discuss that with him. Perhaps some day Hank...Xoox 

I have warm and special, fond memories of my long-time friend and neighbor, Hank or as I playfully called him, Hankie-Pooh! Always with an inviting smile, joke or witty remark, generous and thoughtful gestures, great singing voice and spirit... the list goes on and on... he will forever be missed but always remembered by family, friends and colleagues for the special ways he touched our lives... Rest in peace, Hankie-Pooh, as you meet-up with friends who passed before you including my beloved Paddy, a fellow veteran like you... ready to embrace you with a big bear hug! ❤️

Hank was a good man, giving his love and of himself to many.  He wanted so badly to live a little longer.  Even though his body gave out, his spirit will continue to live in the memory of all who loved him for many years to come.   Julie dedicated herself to taking care of him and make him as comfortable as possible.   I know Hank will now watch over Julie and protect her.  I also extend my condolences to his daughters and extended family.  

I met Hank about five years ago.  He was a kind gentleman, great husband to Juliana and much, much more.
What I remember about him is that he spoke in  complete sentences but most of all I remember his very distinctive melodic voice. The family will surely miss him very much.

My Grandpa Hank holds a special place in my heart. Always loving and always making us laugh throughout the years. I was lucky to have such a wonderful grandparent. I will never forget him singing happy birthday to me every single  year in his beautiful Sinatra voice.  I will always remember how encouraging  and supportive  he was as I achieved milestones throughout my life. Always passionate about the things he loved most, including the Yankees of course. And he loved his family deeply. He lived his life the way he wanted , helping others along the way because that was just who he was. Thank you for so many great memories  Love you always and forever  Grandpa!


I will miss our phone chats when he would call me and tell me how wonderful both of my parents were.  I will miss how loving and sweet he was to me over these last several years.  
My memories of him will always be how he was a very passionate man who loved and adored his family, friends and the Yankees!

Just about several weeks ago , I called Uncle Hank. He asked me , “Karen, when is your birthday?”, I told him in a couple of weeks. And he said, “would it be ok if I sang Happy Birthday to you?”  And he did. It was pitch perfect. And as he sang tears flowed down my cheeks. 

Uncle Hank was always encouraging me during our phone calls over the years. There’s a special place in heaven for my Uncle Hank. God willing I’ll be seeing him again.
