Anthony Balzano

Anthony Balzano , who recently turned 89 on April 19th of Brooklyn died Thursday May 6th 2021 peacefully at Norwegian Christian Home and Health. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He married his wife Anna in 1961 and was happily married for 60 years. He is survived by his wife Anna and two sons, Andrew and John and his daughter-in-law JoAnna. He had two wonderful grandchildren, Megan and Kevin. He was brother to Mary Pesce and the late Jerry and Louie Balzano, and many nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed trips to Atlantic City with his wife, horseracing and watching Gunsmoke. He had a great sense of humor which will be greatly missed. Because of this humor, he was given the nickname of ‘Tony the Actor’ at work.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Family and friends may visit at Cusimano & Russo Funeral Home at 2005 West 6th Street Brooklyn, NY 11223, on Monday May 10th from 3-8 pm. Mass will be held on Tuesday May 11th at 11:15am at St. Athanasius at 6115 Bay Parkway Brooklyn, NY 11204 and burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery at 361 Sharrott Avenue Staten Island, NY 10309.
