A lifelong resident of Newton died peacefully at home on May 19, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was 84 years old. Susan is survived by her daughter Janie (Fliegel) Howland, her son-in-law Brian Howland, her stepdaughter Lisa Fliegel, stepson Josh Fliegel, and her three grandsons Davis Howland, Julian Howland, and Russell Bocian, she is predeceased by her husband Berton.
Susan was born on September 3, 1939, in Boston to Selma and Lawrence Davis of Newton, MA. She dedicated her life to helping people with disabilities and was passionate about politics, working for Mike Dukakis and Barney Frank.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, May 22, at 2:45PM at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon, MA.
Shiva will take place at Janie Howland's home following the service on Wednesday until 8PM and will continue Thursday and Friday 10:30AM - 5:30PM.
