He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on January 4, 1933 to Saul and Vera Salter.
Working in his father’s deli at an early age he learned the value of hard work and family. He graduated from Boston University in 1954 and went on to receive a Masters Degree in business from Suffolk University. He spent 2 years in the military prior to meeting and marrying the love of his life, Marilyn (Blackman) Salter.
