Shirley Jackson passed away peacefully on 6 February 2022, at her home at Newbridge on the Charles in Dedham, MA. Originally from Baltimore, Shirley was born September 22, 1924, and was one of five children of Ida and Nathan Greenberg.
Shirley spent the majority of her long and cherished life married and raising her children in Newton, MA.
Predeceased by her husband, Phillip R. Jackson, and her daughter, Susan R. Jackson, Shirley is survived by three daughters, Sharon J. Huber (Joseph), Nancy J. Hodin (Michael) and Marcia (Marcy) E. Jackson, along with five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
A devoted wife, mother and friend to many, endearing all she met with humor, a joy for life and adventure especially for her travels with family and friends. Shirley was a devoted volunteer at the Friend’s gift shop at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and loved her tennis games where she dazzled all with her nimble and often unconventional tennis skills. Shirley’s inimitable humor, opinions and smile will be deeply missed by all.
