Sara (Grossi) Rossi, 90, of Brookline, MA. died June 12, 2013, following a brief illness. Devoted wife of 62 years to the late Massimino Rossi. Beloved mother of Pamela and her husband Chris of Brookline, MA.; Deborah and her husband John of Point Pleasant, NJ, as well as 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Born in Johnstown, PA in 1923, Sara worked as a crossing watchman for the Baltimore-Ohio railroad during World War II, before re-locating to Roselle Park, NJ in 1944, where she lived for the next 60 years.
In 2004, she moved to Brookline, Mass., becoming an active member of the Brookline Senior Center community, volunteering four days a week in various functions, culminating in her being named “Brookline Senior Center Volunteer of the Year” for 2012.
