

Ruth K. Angoff (Krivitsky) age 96, of Newton, on September 14. Beloved wife for 51 years of the late Samuel S. Angoff. Beloved mother of the late Carol Jean Angoff and the late Dr. Richard Harris Angoff. Survived by daughter Amy L. Kaplan and her husband Martin of Gloucester, daughter Sally A. Gladstone and her husband Gerald of Worcester, daughter-in-law Christine Angoff of Worcester, grandchildren Rachel Mandina and her husband Paul, Andrew, Matthew, Michael, Joshua and Rebecca Angoff, CJ Kaplan and his wife Lisa, Daniel Kaplan and his wife Alison, Michael and Samuel Angoff Gladstone, great grandchildren Samantha, Alex, Eric, Jameson, Julian and Olivia, and nieces and nephews. Dear sister to her 5 older, predeceased siblings, Rose (Krivitsky) Zacks, Benjamin Krivitsky, Dr. James Krivan, Sara Krivitsky, and Sidney Krivan.
Ruth graduated from Brookline High School and attended Simmons College before training in medical bacteriology at the Dimock Center in Roxbury. She worked in the laboratory at the Beth Israel Hospital until she married Sam. They honeymooned in Cuba, lived in Brookline and then moved to Newton. They traveled extensively in Europe, made yearly visits to Bermuda and spent countless summers in Gloucester. Ruth enjoyed reading, adored the ocean, embraced everything nautical, appreciated classical music and took great pleasure in watching her beloved Boston Celtics. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a quick wit and exceptional good sense. She particularly loved to shop for her family and for her home. More than anything else, Ruth was enormously proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services and burial were private. The Angoff family wishes to thank the staff of the Jewish Healthcare Center Fifth Floor in Worcester for the exceptional care, compassion and love they gave Ruth.
