I knew Raquel during my time in Maine. I'm really sorry to hear about this and hearing about it years past. Raquel really was a mix of spontaneous energy and intelligence. There was one point that I saw her interact with the horses like Frankie and others. She was really helpful and pulled her own weight as well as helping out the newbies at the farm house. I'm not sure if Ironwood helped her but maybe it did. Rest in some kind of peace. Miss you.

I was truly blessed to have known Raquel and the presence of her in my life has greatly touched me.  She felt the pains of our world and our inhumanity.  It is so fitting that the Humane League was chosen as a way to remember her as she believed in the humane treatment of all animals and people.  She was a passionate and opinionated young women who was a great friend and person.  Please be the light she wanted in this world.  She would truly appreciate it. Raquel has been one of the most influential young ladies I have encountered in my career and life. When I saw this, my heart immediately dropped to my feet and it seemed not possible. I am so sad not only for the pain her family must be going through but for everyone who Raquel would have influenced with her gorgeous spirit.

Raquel was a student in my 7th grade science class at the Oak Hill Middle School. Her presence was a gift. Bubbly, bright, warm, and fun, she had a way of bringing our classroom to life.

Raquel's death has no doubt impacted many, far more than she could know, but it was the impact she had in her life that made her special. She still seems alive to me, still out there somewhere in the world, maybe because Raquel was one of those people who was always so alive. She seemed almost immortal, and in a way she is, forever living on in each of us as we remember her and all she gave us.

  I am so  blessed to have had the Life experience of Knowing Raquel !  I watched Raquel grow up into a beautiful  soulful passionate  woman , and  I have so many fun memories of you  and  Alexa and Nina and Hannah that will remain in my heart forever  !  Our families shared so many  fun amazing celebrations and precious moments  .  Raquel you will be greatly  missed !  You were such a life force and so passionate about animal rights from a early age  . You put your heart and soul into  fund raising for The Humane  League and First Giving Boston  Walk for animals . Giving your time to help animals . You were so generous and compassionate .  Your bright smile and loving personality touched everyone .  I pray  you rest in peace and may all who love you find peace- Shalom ,  and keep your life force and memory alive. Raquel was an amazing person with an amazing soul. She truly has made an impact on everyone who she has met. May she rest in peace.

You are such a special person, Raquel. From the first day I met you, I knew you would have a powerful impact on my life. I wish we had gotten to have more time together to become closer, and it is such a tragedy that this time was cut too short. I love you so much, and I hope you understood just how amazing everyone around you knew you were. I sincerely hope you are in a better place.

Words could never begin to describe how we feel. Raquel was one of a kind. She touched our hearts and our souls in a way that is so rare. She was only 17 in human years, but was 100 in her deep soul. She taught US to cherish life, to live life, to explore life and to love life. We are forever blessed that she was able to come into our lives for even this short amount of time. We will NOT say good bye to her tomorrow for she is with us in our hearts. We will honor her and remember all the amazing times she spent with our family in Newton, in Vermont and in spirit.
