Ninel was born in Moscow, Russia on April 13, 1938 to Rahel and Boris Libinson. After graduating from university in 1960 she worked as an educator in a junior college. She married the love of her life Semyon (Solomon) Sinitskiy in 1961 and had two daughters. Upon moving to the United States with her family in 1989, she worked as a Research Assistant at Harvard University before retiring.
Ninel was an eternal optimist, eager to learn new things. Throughout her life she had a strong passion for travel and always remembered scrolling through the maps as a child, dreaming of traveling the world. In America she fully realized her dreams visiting all continents and over 60 countries. She returned from each trip full of memories and photos. Every place she visited was “the best thing I had even seen” as she shared with the family upon her return home. Her enthusiasm for exploring had no boundaries.
Above all, the real joy of her life was Ninel’s family. She adored her children and grandchildren. As she used to always say, “I have 6 grandsons and a little princess granddaughter”. They called her “baba Nelya”, or “babushka”, and will miss her warmth and kisses, and the “little princess” will miss sitting on her lap eating sweets together.
Ninel was preceded in death by her husband Solomon Sinitskiy and her brother Eugene Libinson. She is survived by her daughters Inna (Boris Shnapir), Alla (Leonard Krajewski), and her 7 grandchildren Simon Shnapir, Daniel, Joel, and Samuel Gorenbeyn, Senya, Vlad and Adelyn Krajewski.
The graveside service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Shara Tfilo Cemetery in Boston. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Inna and Boris following the interment.
