Matthew Moskowitz, 87, of Framingham and formerly of Brookline, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022, surrounded by family.
For 59 years, he was the beloved husband of Rosalind (Pearl) “Sue” Moskowitz. Adoring son of the late Arthur and Pearl Moskowitz, of Brookline. Loving father of Barry Moskowitz of Miami, FL and Robert and Jane Moskowitz of Plymouth. Cherished Papa of Jack and Shayla. Dear brother of the late Carol and Morris Deutch of Falls Church, VA. Treasured Brother-in-law of Leonard Pearl and Patricia Meyers of Newburyport and Elliott Pearl of Lawrence. Beloved uncle of the late Sean Pearl and Max Pearl, both of Newburyport, and Jennifer and Kirt Bachman of Waterford, VA. Beloved Great Uncle of Drake and Sloane Bachman of Waterford, VA, as well as a loving, extended family.
Matthew was, according to his wife, Rosalind, and his sons, Barry and Rob, “the best father in the world”. Matthew spent countless hours attending card shows, sharing Robert’s passion for baseball. Matt also spent a week in Barry’s Firebird, driving cross-country together for Barry’s first post-college job in Colorado.
Matthew’s greatest love was spending time with “Sue”. Before their wedding, Matt asked Roz to promise him a weekly Saturday dinner date, which they enjoyed each week for 59 years. Together, Matt and Roz attended their sons’ sporting events, chaired committees at Temple Beth Am in Framingham, hosted weekly family cookouts for their parents, siblings and their families, or in later years, spent time with their children and their families and Lenny’s family where Matt summered as a child in Ogunquit, Maine.
Matthew was a talented and personable salesman. As his police department clients referred to him, “Matty” was famous for committing to memory every police officer’s shirt size across Eastern Massachusetts.
Graveside services are private.
