Raised in Long Beach, NY, Mark graduated from Long Beach H.S. and then went on to earn his BA from Brown University (1971). Mark earned a Masters degree from Boston University (1979) and held a Doctorate in organization development and consulting psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (1985).
In 1973 Mark co-founded Maple Valley School (a residential special education school and human service agency serving troubled adolescents) located in Wendell, MA and served as Executive Director from 1973 1985 and as President of its Board of Directors until 1990.
From 1985-1988 Mark founded and served as Program Director for the National Training Center of the United Jewish Appeal in NYC. He then went on to build a career in consulting by working for Organizational Dynamics, Inc., Interaction Associates, and co-founded the Burnham Rosen Group before focusing on his solo career as a management consultant to executives for strategy, leadership and organizational change and was recently published in the Harvard Business Review.
Mark was an athlete and a life-long sports fan of the Yankees, Patriots, and Celtics. While Mark missed his days of basketball and golf, he persevered after being diagnosed with ALS in 2001 and dedicated his life to living with courage and dignity and being truly present in his familys life. He worked throughout his entire illness, still making huge impacts in the business world and cherishing his time with loved ones.
Marks greatest love and purpose was always family, especially his children. As the beloved father of Zelda and Teddy, son of Seymour and Thelma Rosen, uncle, brother, dear friend and trusted colleague, he touched countless lives through his dedication to education and helping others achieve their true purpose and happiness.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 28th at 1pm at the Chabad Center of Sudbury located at 100 Horse Pond Road in Sudbury, MA. Interment at Beit Olam Cemetery in Wayland. Following interment, Shiva will be at the Rosen Home, 27 Sawmill Lane in Sudbury until 8:00pm, continuing Wednesday 4:00-8:00pm.
