Libby H. Greenberg, 91, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2021. She was born in Providence, R.I., on August 31, 1930, the daughter of Charles Jacobson and Rose Chusmir Jacobson. She graduated from Classical High School, Brown University and the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing, and received her Sc.B. in Nursing in 1951. She worked as a pediatric nurse at the Long Island College Hospital and Grasslands Hospital, and was later a nursing instructor at Grasslands Hospital School of Nursing, Valhalla, N.Y.
She volunteered as a reading tutor in the Framingham elementary schools and for Literacy Volunteers of America. She was a long time member of Temple Beth Am in Framingham. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and the performing arts, but most of all her family.
Libby was married to the late Dr. Ernest Greenberg for 68 years, and leaves three children and their spouses: Mark Greenberg and Karen Pushee from Hanover, N.H.; Lynn and Gerry Rakos from Stamford, CT; and Paul Greenberg and Renee Goldberg from Westwood, MA. She also leaves six grandchildren: Zack Greenberg and Liam Pushee; Dan and Allie Rakos; and Jake and Simone Greenberg.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Stanetsky Memorial Chapel (475 Washington St., CANTON, MA) followed by burial at Sharon Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Literacy Volunteers of Massachusetts, www.lvm.org.
