Judith Missel Sandler of Chestnut Hill passed away on Friday August 16, 2024, at the age of 89. Judy was born in Brookline and lived most of her adult life in Newton. Judy attended Connecticut College for Women and Chamberlayne Junior College where she studied interior design. Judy and her business partner and best friend Ann Tackeff ran the successful Interior Design Firm “Sandler-Dick Associates” for over 40 years. They received high praise for their work, and it was regularly photographed and published. Judy loved to host and attend parties for any occasion. She had a wonderful and fulfilling life. She was a Patron of the Museum of Fine Arts for many years and attending exhibition events brought her great joy.
She is predeceased by her beloved and devoted husband Barry of 51 years. Loving mother of Jill Sandler (Alan) of AZ, Jane Frank (Alex) of East Hampton, and Jodi Sandler of New York City. Adored “Meme” of Austin (Zoe), Jeremy and Gabriel Sandler, Kendall Bozzello (Brian), Annabel Frank (James Salazar), Spencer Strauber, and great grandchildren Quinn, Arbor, Jonah, and Gabriela. She leaves behind her devoted sister Linda Saperstein, sister-in-law Betty Federman and her lifelong best friend Ann Tackeff. With much gratitude and love to exceptional caregivers Liz Mullen and Eliane Horsth Lima.
