Joseph M. Furman

Joseph M. Furman, Age 92, of Dedham, formerly of Newton and Boynton Beach, FL. For 68 years, beloved husband of Ann (Rapoport) Furman. Loving father of Elaine Gashin & her husband Earl, Mark Furman & his wife Amy, and Howard Furman & his wife Jacquelyn. Cherished grandfather of Eric Gashin & his fiancée Jessica Fradkin, Allison Sobin & her husband Josh, Matthew and Alexandra Furman, and Shira, Danielle and Micaela Furman, and great grandfather of Max Sobin. Joe gave his time to many organizations, including Temple Emanuel, Hebrew SeniorLife, and the Staro Konstatinov Cemetery. He was very proud his service in the Navy and being a Mason. Most of all, Joe adored spending time with all his grandchildren and great grandson. Services at Temple Emanuel, 385 Ward Street, Newton, Friday, June 20 at 2:00PM. Burial to follow at Staro Konstatinov Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury. Following burial, memorial observance will be at the home of Howard & Jacquelyn Furman until sundown. Memorial observance will continue Sunday at the Interfaith Chapel at NewBridge on the Charles from 2-4pm and at the home of Jacquelyn & Howard Furman from 7-9pm, Monday & Tuesday at the home of Amy and Mark Furman from 7-9pm, and Wednesday & Thursday at the home of Elaine and Earl Gashin from 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hebrew SeniorLife or Temple Emanuel.
