Ira Thomas Rakatansky

Ira, son of the late Ann and Henry Rakatansky, was born and raised in New Bedford. He was a graduate of Bentley College and Suffolk University and was a practicing CPA and attorney for over 50 years. He was well known by his clients, friends and family as a trusted advisor and the voice of authority.

Ira loved his dogs, fast cars, cooking, swimming in his back yard pool, and spending time with his family. He had a large personality that was only rivaled by his generosity. Ira had a passion for engaging people in conversation, laughing, and telling jokes to both willing and unwilling audiences.

Ira is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Nancy, his children, Alex & his wife Felicity Heath, Leah Camara & her husband John, and his granddaughters Emily, Isabelle, Ashley, and Ruby.
