Harris C. Faigel

Harris C. Faigel of Chestnut Hill, passed away on August 24, 2024. For 52 years, he was the beloved husband of Frayda (Brody) Faigel. Loving father of Mindi Dickstein, Jordan Dickstein & his wife Kim, Douglas Faigel and Jennifer Faigel. Cherished grandfather of Ben & his fiancé Louise, Joey & his fiancé Courtney, Maddie & her husband Jens, Olivia and Eli. Dear brother of the late Martin Faigel and brother-in-law of Dennis & Adrienne Brody and the late Cynthia Ann Carter. Fond uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Harris was born in Lynn and grew up in Lawrence. He attended Phillips Academy Andover, Harvard University, and University of Buffalo School of Medicine. He did his internship and residency in Pediatrics at Boston Floating Hospital and a fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. He was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, Chief of Adolescent Medicine at Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Director of University Health Services, Brandeis University, Director of Medical Consultation Services, Bournewood Hospital, and Consultant, Disability Branch, Social Security Administration.

Harris was an avid skier, sailor, pilot, and gardener, a family historian, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College Health. He was a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. As a family historian he developed a family tree covering ten generations.
