Harold (Hal) Homonoff, age 95, of Framingham, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024. For 64 years, he was the beloved husband of the late Paula Zucker Homonoff. Loving father of Howard Homonoff and his wife Susan Tuchman, Allen Homonoff and the late Beth Prater. Cherished grandfather of Carly, Zoe and Gabi. Devoted uncle to Alan, Jon, and Joanna Elliott.
Hal was born in Detroit, MI in 1929 and grew up from the age of 6 on in Roxbury, MA, eventually graduating from Boston Latin School. He was a chemist by training, attending the University of Oklahoma, earning his B.A. from Boston University and his master’s in chemistry from Tufts University. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean War era, rising to the rank of Lieutenant. Prior to his retirement he worked at Digital Equipment Corporation for many years. Hal and Paula were members of Temple Israel in Natick for over fifty years.
A graveside funeral service will be held at Framingham-Natick Hebrew Cemetery, 40 Fairview Avenue, Natick, MA on Thursday, December 12:00 Noon.
Shiva will be in the Social Room of Hal and Paula’s late residence at Chapel Hill Condominiums, 1550 Worcester Road, Lobby B, Framingham on Thursday from 3:00-5:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm, with Minyan at 7:30pm. Shiva will continue Sunday, December 15, at Howard and Susan's home from 1:00-4:00 pm.
