George Leonard Greenfield, of Chestnut Hill passed away on September 1, 2021 at the age of 94. Loving husband to Harriet Greenfield for the past 31 years and previously, to the late Judith Greenfield for 38 years. Devoted father to Carol Greenfield (Reynolds) of Chestnut Hill, David Greenfield of South Strafford,
VT, Laura & David Martin of Calgary, Canada, and to stepchildren Jessica Greenfield & Paul Hummel of Newton and Eliot Greenfield & Pilar Beccar-Varela of Oakland, CA. Adoring Papa to Andrew Reynolds, Alexandra Martin, Jacob Martin and to step-grandchildren Hannah Hummel, Theo Hummel, Tavi Greenfield and Emilia Greenfield. Predeceased by parents Harry and Nettie Greenfield and brother to Wilma Greenfield of Boca Raton, FL.
Veteran of the U.S. Navy and graduate of Purdue University and Boston University School of Law.
A principal partner since 1955 of Wolf Greenfield, Boston’s leading Intellectual Property Law Firm.
Active in his early years in Sharon civic politics, he served on the Planning Board and as Select Board Chairman and member of other town committees, and, throughout his life in Boston-area philanthropies.
Avid, life-long sportsman, passionate schusser at Mt. Cranmore, celebrated cookie junkie and beloved family patriarch.
