Ethel Baer Pearlman Ross died peacefully after a long illness on July 10, 2023 at the age of 91. Formerly of New York, Boca Raton, FL, and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Ethel was born and raised in New York City. She was the loving daughter of Rose (Rosenberg) and Edward Pearlman, former wife of Stephen M. Ross, and mother to Elizabeth M. Ross and Lawrence Nathaniel Ross.
Ethel enjoyed a happy childhood growing up in New York City and spending summers at Pine Lake Park in Cortlandt, NY. She graduated from Wheaton College and Brooklyn Law School where she earned the honor of serving on the law review editorial staff. She worked in the NY Court of Appeals in Brooklyn and White Plains, NY and as a criminal defense attorney.
Ethel cherished her profession, her children and grandchildren, and her many close friends. She enjoyed opera, art, dining, entertaining, writing true crime fiction, and participating in and volunteering for the Rotary Club of San Miguel de Allende, AC.
Ethel will be greatly missed by her immediate family and close friends in the USA and Mexico and dear cousins Enid Pearlman Avenius and Dara Avenius.
A graveside funeral service will be at Puritan Mount Sinai Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury on Thursday, July 13 at 1:00 p.m.
