Elyse Katz

Age 96 of Newton, Wellesley, and Brookline on Sunday, April 14, 2024. Born Detroit, MI daughter of late George and Lenore (Siddur) Lipkin, Elyse grew up in Brookline, MA until WWII brought her family to Harlingen, TX for the duration.

Elyse was the beloved wife of the late Robert for 59 years and leaves daughter Sharyn of Easton, MA and granddaughter Samantha Katzen of Stoughton, MA; she was predeceased by son David. Survived by sister Adriane Silver, formerly of N. Miami Beach, FL and nephews Craig Coan of Los Angeles, CA and Brian Coan of Carmel, IN and their families.

There were many notable “firsts” in Elyse’s life in her worlds of contract bridge and sailing. At age 90 she retired from her freelance bookkeeping practice.

Funeral service to be held at Temple Beth Elohim, 10 Bethel Road, Wellesley, MA on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 11:30 AM. Service available via Zoom: https://tinyurl.com/Elyse-Katz-Funeral. Burial to follow at Beit Olam Cemetery, 60 Old Sudbury Road, Wayland, MA. In lieu of shiva, there will be a memorial observance at a later date.
