Doris Bienstock Soreff, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away on May 20, 2022 at the age of 93. Recently having moved to Wylie, TX from Needham, MA, she was cared for in the last part of her life selflessly and lovingly by her “Texas Family”.
Born in Lower Manhattan, NY in 1929, to the late Adolph Bienstock and the late Eva (Brownstein) she moved to Boston, MA to pursue her degree at the Beth Israel School of Nursing, and while finding her lifelong occupation and passion of healthcare, she also found the love of her life, Sheldon. Together they raised two children, and she made the Boston area her home for the majority of her life.
Knowledge was her hobby, attested to by the abundance of books and reading material in her home. Able to speak, opine and converse on a multitude of topics, she was gifted with great intellect, vocabulary and most of all, wit. She could be found each and every Sunday working on, and most often finishing with ease, the New York Times Sunday Crossword Puzzle.
She was the beloved wife to the late Sheldon M. Soreff. Loving mother to Alec M. Soreff and his wife Janet Epstein of Wylie, Texas and to David H. Soreff and his wife Faline Leialoha Kini of Las Vegas, NV.
Adored grandmother (Nainai) to Emma Meryl Yu Soreff and step-grandmother to Ben Epstein. Sister to the late Dr. Milton Bienstock. Cherished Auntie Doris to many, and treasured friend to even more.
