It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dina Manevich on March 29th, 2023, at the age of 91 after a courageous battle with cancer. In her final moments, she found solace in doing what brought her the most joy - spending cherished time with her loved ones in the comfort of her home.
Dina was a highly intelligent and warm-hearted person with an innate sense of style and an ardent love for music. Those who knew her well often described her as a sweet and amiable individual, blessed with a big heart. Dina was born on November 8, 1931, in Surazh, Russia, to proud parents Efim Manevich and Ida Rubinovich. She faced adversity from a young age when she and her mother were forced to evacuate to Siberia in 1940 in response to the looming war. Despite the challenging circumstances, Dina persevered with unwavering determination, ultimately returning to Moscow and successfully graduating from the Moscow Medical Stomatologist Institute in 1953. After obtaining a postgraduate degree in prosthodontics, she went on to become one of the few female Jewish dentists in her large clinic. Her remarkable dedication and expertise as a skilled doctor shone through for over 35 years. Dina immigrated to Boston, Massachusetts in 1991, where she spent the rest of her life devoted to her family.
Dina was predeceased by her parents, brother Michael, and loving husband Leonid Lenderman. Dina and Leonid wed in 1955 and embraked on a journey of marriage that spanned 57 years. As they move beyond the physical realm, their love will endure and transcend the words “till death do us part.” Dina will live on through her children, Ura and Lena; grandchildren, Vladik, Jacqueline, Allan, and Daniel; great-grandchild Leah; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Dina's memory will be cherished by those she touched, who will honor her legacy by valuing self-care, treasuring their families, and demonstrating courage in the face of adversity.
Funeral Service will be held in Stanetsky Memorial Chapel, 1668 Beacon St. Brookline, MA on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 11:30AM. Interment will follow in the Crawford Street Memorial Park, 776 Baker St. West Roxbury, MA.
